Jared Steele, a Dallas Fortworth native, has spent much of his life immersed in technology and business. After graduating from Texas Tech University with a degree in Business Management, focusing on Entrepreneurship, Jared's career path took him to Washington, D.C., where he worked in cybersecurity, before transitioning back to Texas to pursue a career in sales.
In sales, Jared gained invaluable exposure to industries like Unity Technologies, NASA, and BMW, sparking his fascination with hardware development. This curiosity, paired with his entrepreneurial drive, led to the creation of Terrashroom.
As an avid mushroom cultivator for seven years, Jared experienced firsthand the time-intensive and manual nature of traditional growing methods. Combining his interest in health and wellness with his tech background, Jared set out to create a fully automated system that could allow anyone to grow mushrooms and rare plants at home with ease. Terrashroom's flagship product—a bioreactor—optimizes the growing environment, making cultivation simple, safe, and efficient. Powered by the Internet of Things (IoT), the system enables users to control the process remotely, ensuring an ideal experience for hobbyists and enthusiasts alike.
The growth process is easy: customers simply add water, activate the system, and watch as their mushrooms grow in as little as 10 days, depending on the variety. Some mushrooms can take up to two months to mature, offering flexibility and ease for both beginners and seasoned growers.
